Honouring your body and your need to rest is what you can expect in a session with me.
Yoga to me is learning about our own landscape, teaching ourselves to breathe, focus and also to rest. It is a process of uncovering the layers of conditioning and habits we all acquire throughout our lifetime and reconnecting with our core self with curiosity and awareness.
Calm your mind, fortify your body and resilience, and find joy in other ways to move and be – if not you, then who?
If not now, then when?

Happy & Healthy Body
Yoga has immense potential to improve overall body strength & physical health. It contributes to joint health and muscle flexibility, reduces inflammation, may help to increase bone density as well as assisting in recovery from certain injuries and conditions.

Chilled mind
Yoga is great for releasing emotions and our bodies from constant worry and stress. It helps to remove mental tension whilst building stamina. It increases focus but also helps to switch off, allowing you to be both alert and rested.

Improved mental health
Boosting our physical health and being a part of a community influences our immune system positively. Yoga promotes rest and healthier sleep and allows the brain to take a break. It proves to be a beautiful partner in times of increased stress and anxiety.

Awakened body awareness
Yoga can help to shift how we feel about ourselves and our bodies. We discover our breath’s influence on how we feel and react, and start creating more awareness and appreciation as we see progress in how we move and feel.

FAQs
Is yoga a cardio workout?
Yoga can be a very dynamic, sweat-inducing workout, however, that is not the main focus of my sessions. I believe it’s important to understand why you are in a pose and how to align it in a safe way for your body, so you create a strong understanding of your flows, no matter how dynamic the practice is.
What is yoga nidra (yogic sleep)?
Yoga nidra is a form of guided meditation/relaxation which will lead you into a deeply nourishing, effortless state of being. It isn’t one technique per se, but the process of entering a dream/sleep-like state, whilst being awake, which has an immense healing, liberating, and calming potential.
Who benefits from yoga?
The great news is that there is no such thing as not being flexible enough to do yoga – the journey can start at any point and any age! Certain conditions may mean that you will follow a different path to stay safe, so always ensure you flag them to your teacher and check in first with your doctor/physio before joining a class.
What should I wear/bring?
Comfortable sports clothing, usually a pair of leggings or comfortable sports trousers and a top/t-shirt. I highly recommend bringing a jumper and a warm set of socks for a cosy relaxation at the end. A yoga eye pillow or a sleeping eye mask is a lovely addition to the nidra part.
